Step 3 Get Active

We will encourage employees to be physically active during the work day, and provide opportunities for them to do so.

Everybody needs at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Luckily, we don't need to get all 60 minutes at once. In fact, short bursts of low-impact physical activity have health benefits that rival one long, vigorous exercise session. Early goals can focus on reducing sitting time:

  • Use printers and copiers farther from your work area
  • Walk to a co-worker's desk rather than sending an email
  • Take a walk at lunch, or lap the building before you leave for the day
